Vintage Amoco Oil Gas Service Station Thermometer Servel Advertising Sign Round

  
Up for sale is a vintage Round Thermometer from an Amoco Station. Has the old style Amoco emblem and I think it would be from around the 1940s. It appears to be fairly accurate, it has stayed within about 2-3 degrees of my home thermostat. Put it outside and it dropped like it should to around 30 degrees. This is a 12 inch diameter thermostat, looks great on a wall. Its about 1 1/2 to 2 inches thick. The sides are galvanized metal. Here are the detractions I can see, there is some surface rust along the bottom where the moisture would settle. Tried to show it in pictures, there is just a little paint loss down there also. The Dial arrow has a little of the black paint lost also.

Back metal is mostly covered in surface rust, but it is solid with no rust through. This is a very nice old piece of Petroliana, I cannot find a maker mark, the arrow that points to the temperature number looks like the kind used on the Pam Thermometers, but I can find that written anywhere on it. The advertising is in great shape, bright and readable.

This thing will hang in my garage in my collection until someone buys it. Wife says I have to sell it cause she bought it and so I will put it for sale. Price not cheap, but then again I really don't want to sell it.
